Details description

Chemical Composition

Primarily composed of nickel (Ni) and copper (Cu), with nickel content ranging from 63% to 70% and copper content from 28% to 34%. It also contains small amounts of other elements such as iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), silicon (Si), carbon (C), and sulfur (S).

Mechanical Properties

Tensile strength ≥450MPa, yield strength ≥170MPa, elongation ≥30%, hardness typically between HB 110-215 (varies depending on processing conditions).

Performance Characteristics

Excellent corrosion resistance: Exhibits superior resistance to hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas, making it one of the few alloys suitable for fluoride environments. It also demonstrates good corrosion resistance in acidic media such as sulfuric and hydrochloric acids, for example, in sulfuric acid concentrations below 85%. Furthermore, it resists corrosion from seawater, saltwater, atmospheric conditions, and organic compounds. It offers better corrosion resistance in seawater than copper-based alloys and generally does not experience stress corrosion cracking.

Good Processing Properties

Possesses excellent cold and hot working properties, allowing for processing into various shapes through rolling, forging, and drawing. It also exhibits good machinability.

Other Properties

It features high strength and good toughness, along with moderate thermal and electrical conductivity. It maintains good mechanical properties even in low-temperature environments.

Standards

ASTM B127, ASME SB-127, AMS 4554, JIS NW4400, etc.

Product Forms

Common forms include seamless pipes, plates, bars, forgings, flanges, rings, welded pipes, strips, and wires. It can also be processed into various components as needed.

Applications

Widely used in marine engineering, such as ship heat exchangers, seawater desalination equipment, propeller shafts, and water pumps. It is also used in the chemical and petrochemical industries, including salt production equipment, marine and chemical processing equipment, gasoline and water tanks, and components of chemical equipment that come into contact with corrosive media such as hydrofluoric acid.

FAQ

Q

How to perform daily maintenance and inspection of steel structures during use?

A
Regularly check components for rust, deformation, loose bolts, etc., promptly repair damaged areas, keep the drainage system unobstructed, and regularly repaint with anti-corrosion paint.
Q

What preparatory work needs to be done before installing a steel structure?

A
Component quality and dimensional deviations need to be checked, connecting parts cleaned, installation equipment and tools prepared, and installation plans and emergency response plans formulated.
Q

What are the main differences between light steel structures and heavy steel structures?

A
Lightweight steel structures use thinner steel sections (such as cold-formed steel) and are mostly used for buildings with smaller loads; heavy steel structures use thicker steel sections and are suitable for projects with large loads and spans.
Q

How are the column spacing and span of steel structure factory buildings usually determined?

A
Needs to be comprehensively determined considering production process requirements, equipment layout, material specifications, and economics. Common column spacing is 6-12 meters, and the span is 15-30 meters.
Q

What changes occur in steel structures under high-temperature environments, and how can these be addressed?

A
High temperatures reduce steel strength. Fire protection measures can include applying fire-retardant coatings, encasing with fireproof panels, and installing water spray systems.
Q

What are the common structural forms of large-span steel structures?

A
Common forms include truss structures, space frame structures, grid shell structures, cable-stayed structures, and membrane structures.
