Chemical Composition

Carbon (C) content is 0.27%~0.34%, Silicon (Si) is 0.90%~1.20%, Manganese (Mn) is 1.00%~1.30%, Sulfur (S) ≤0.020%, Phosphorus (P) ≤0.020%, Chromium (Cr) is 0.90%~1.20%, Nickel (Ni) is 1.40%~1.80%.

Mechanical Properties

Tensile strength is between 1627~1767MPa, elongation δ5 is 12%~13%, reduction of area ψ is 50%, impact toughness αku is between 79~90J/cm².

Performance Characteristics

It has high hardenability and can obtain high strength, high plasticity and toughness after heat treatment. It also has good fatigue resistance and fracture toughness, and a low fatigue crack expansion rate. In addition, this steel has good machinability and weldability, but it is sensitive to notches and hydrogen embrittlement.

Heat Treatment Process

Generally, it is oil quenched at 890~900℃, then tempered at 200~300℃, and air cooled. It can also be heated to 890~900℃, quenched in a 210~280℃ nitrate bath for isothermal treatment for 1h, air cooled, and then tempered at 200~300℃ and air cooled.

Application Fields

It is widely used in military equipment, such as manufacturing parts for tanks and armored vehicles; in aerospace, it is used to manufacture aircraft landing gear, engine brackets, etc.; it can also be used in shipbuilding for hull structures and marine equipment, as well as in the automotive industry for key components such as engine crankshafts and connecting rods. It is also often used in mechanical manufacturing to produce high-strength fasteners and shaft parts.

Steel bar diameters are typically 6-500mm, length 0.5-30m; steel plate thickness is generally 0.5-80mm, and other specifications or shapes can be produced according to requirements.
