Details description
Chemical Composition
Nickel (Ni) content not less than 99.9%, Iron (Fe) ≤0.04%, Carbon (C) ≤0.01%, Manganese (Mn) ≤0.002%, Silicon (Si) ≤0.03%, Copper (Cu) ≤0.015%, Sulfur (S) ≤0.001%, Magnesium (Mg) ≤0.01%.
Physical Properties
Density is approximately 8.89-8.9g/cm³, melting point is approximately 1455℃, with low magnetic permeability, low resistivity, high conductivity and thermal conductivity. The coefficient of thermal expansion is relatively low, approximately 13.3×10⁻⁶/℃ at 20-100℃.
Mechanical Properties
At room temperature, yield strength ≥240MPa, tensile strength ≥520MPa, elongation ≥45%. It can maintain a certain strength in high temperature environments. For example, the tensile strength can still be maintained at around 400MPa after 1000 hours at 870℃.
Performance Characteristics
It has excellent corrosion resistance, good corrosion resistance in acidic solutions such as sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and hydrochloric acid, as well as alkaline solutions such as potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide, and better corrosion resistance in salt spray environments than ordinary stainless steel. It has good processing properties, excellent ductility and toughness during cold processing, and can be cold-rolled and stretched, but it is easy to produce work hardening, and intermediate annealing is usually required; hot processing can be carried out at 1000-1200℃, maintaining good plasticity. In addition, it also has good weldability, often using argon arc welding or plasma welding, and preheating the material to 200-300℃ is required before welding.
Product Forms
There are thin plates, plates, strips, seamless pipes, welded pipes, rods, and ingots, etc. The execution standards include ASTM B162, ASTM B161, etc.
Application Fields
It is often used in the chemical industry to manufacture corrosion-resistant equipment and pipelines, such as reactors and evaporators; in the aerospace field, it is used to manufacture engine parts, etc.; it can also be used in food processing equipment, salt refining equipment, nuclear reactor components, and marine engineering equipment, etc.
